Deep within the realm of Maple Story where Orbis lies a church. Father(Penguin), leader of the church who employ his most powerful paladins to deal with disaster that disturb the maple story realm. One paladin stood out of his ranks and his name is Death, son of Sora and brother to Ball. Sora had pass away when Death is at the age of 6 leaving Ball to take care of him. At the age 18, Ball left Death to Father Penguin in hopes him teaching Death the path of Light. Death does not know who is his mother or never seen her but this tale will soon unravel the truth behind Death's birth.

One evening day, Father Penguin called Death

Penguin: Death come over here, I have an assignment for you
Death: What is it Father Penguin?
Penguin: Oh please don't be formal to me too much
Death: I had to father, I always follow the path of the light
Penguin: Indeed you have, you always have been the best student in this church
Death: Oh Father don't give me too much credit, so what's the assignment about?
Penguin: There has been a strange aura emitting around sleepywood that separate from the like anyother that we felt before.
Death: But isn't sleepywood always emit such aura?
Penguin: Yes, however few of my paladins have journey to that place but they never report back here and it seems like they're deserting us or something.
Death: Don't worry Father I shall look for them and bring them back in name of the Code.
Penguin: Well then get ready, I'll shall send you off soon.

At the exit of the Church

Penguin: Good luck Death never stray from the path of light and always remember it.
Death: I'll always do Father latez(LOL)

And with it, Death left on a journey to find the mysterious sleepywood and discover what's happening there.

While exploring Orbis town, Death doesn't know how to get to sleepywood so decided to go to a bar to ask some people around here. Death walks up to the bartender and ask for a cup water. The bartender gave it to him but then Death ask:

Death: Excuse me kind sir, do you have any info on how to get to SleepyWood?
Bartender: Ah that devil place I do know of but not the location. Try asking that fellow over there sitting yonder there.
Death: Thank you I shall

So Death walk over to the mysterious fellow whos sitting and drinking and ask
Death: Excuse me kind fellow, can you direct the location to Sleepywood to me
??????: Don't go there that place is evil, many men like you have gone there but never came back so please don't go there.
Death: I had to go, in the name of the light I follow i must.
??????: Take a ship that goes to Victoria Island which you will land in Ellina,
there lies a a great wizard who will show you the way.
Death: Thank you kind stranger but tell me what is your name?
??????: I cannot tell you but I want to you to grant me this promise?
Death: Um sure, what is it that you want?
??????: Promise me that you come back safety because I want to tell you something really important.
Death: I will don't worry

As Death bid farewell to the stranger, he leaves in departing to Victoria Island. The stranger shed some tears and walks away to the alley of the city.

Death have arrived at Ellina, the town of mages. As he wondering around asking questions where Grendel the Great Wizard, he stumble upon a young mage.

Death: Excuse me miss
She turns around and respond
Saber: yes?
Death: you seem like a mage yourself so can i ask you a question
Saber: Shoot
Death: Do you by any chance know where the Great Grendel lives
Saber: Sure right over there where the Big sign says: Grendel
Death: -_- Thank you for your help, may i ask your name?
Saber: Names Saber
Death: Nice name may the light guide you
Saber: Thanks( weirdo)

As Death visit Grendel's house, he noticed strange magic surrounding the house what appears to be a barrier or some sort.

Death: Hm so this barrier prevent intruders from coming in unless its one of his students. Alright I'm gonna break it.

Death pulls out his sword and start chanting his holy magic on the sword

Death: Alright eat this HEAVEN'S HAMMER!
?????: WAIT!!!

Just when Death try to smash it, the mysterious person hexed him to a snail thus stopping his attack.

Death: WTF Who turned me into a snail
Saber: It was me
Death: WTH Saber why?!!!
Saber: Because theres a doorbell?
Death: Shocked ok I didn't know that
Saber: I'll introduce you to him
Death: Ok but can you like change me back?
Saber: Um it will last for 10 minutes so can you wait?
Death: You mean you can't change me back.....
Saber: Yes sorry Razz
Death: ok w/e just take me to him

As Saber rang the doorbell, the barrier shook and the energy surrounded here as if it was identifying her. The energy disappear and the door is open. They wander through the library but then suddenly a voice echo

?????: Who goes there i sense both strong auras here
Saber: its me Master and i brought a guest

Grendel unveil himself from the shadows

Grendel: ho ho ho why didn't say so please come in
Death: Thank you for your kindness
Grendel: Is it me or is the snail talking?
Saber: Don't worry it just a person who has been hexed he'll turn back right about now..
Death: Omg finally
Grendel: HOHOHO Why isn't it Death, Paladin of Orbis welcome
Saber: you know him master?
Death: How you know me sir?
Grendel: Why Father Penguin told me about your coming
Death: Ah Father Penguin, how is he doing?
Grendel: He's doing fine, still teaching new pupils
Death: LOL thats nice but lets get to business, Father Penguin told me that you know the location of Sleepywood. Can you lead to that place
Grendel: Indeed i know but Saber will lead you there
Saber: WTH Why me
Grendel: Cause I'm lazy now off with you
Saber: ........
Death: ........

As they both left the house

Saber: you know what I'll just give you a scroll that will teleport you directly to the entrance.
Death: Really are you both that lazy......
Saber: Shut up and here" hands scroll"
Saber: Be careful, I had been hearing rumors about that place on how dark spirits lies there.
Death: Don't worry, I had been trained to resist them so latez

Death uses the scroll and vanish however Saber felt something is wrong

Saber: Why do I had a feeling that he isn't coming back.....

Death's journey is almost coming to an end but what lies deep with that mysterious place that even Grendel won't even escort?

Death has arrived at the entrance of Sleepywood and already the aura has grow strong that even he felt it

Death: This aura.. it reeks of darkness I better be careful

As Death wander to the forest, the aura have grown even stronger than before. However it is still unaffected to Death since he gone through training similar to this place.

Death: If i remember there is a town within this place, I shall go visit there

Death wander endlessly in the forest search for the town that was rumor to be there. After many days of travel, he finally found it however aura has grown too powerful before.

Death: This town....... is causing this aura that converting my fellowing paladins to leave but why....?
??????: You have no idea how long I have been waiting for you Death
Death: Who are you?!! Show yourself!!!!!! "Draws Sword"
Elpam Gorlab: My name is Elpam Gorlab
Death: Never heard of you
Elpam Gorlab: .............. whatever anyway I have a proposition for young lad
Death: Not interested sorry
Elpam Gorlab: Ahh such a valiant lad you are well trained young paladin
Death: Are you the one who been converting my allies
Elpam Gorlab: Indeed I have, all your friends strive for more power than their path of light
Death: LIES!!! Shut up!!! Don't make me kill you!!! "Charges Holy Sword"
Elpam Gorab: Hm that won't hurt me
Death: We'll see about that!

Death made a quick slash with his Holy blade using his speed following a combo of Blast.

Death: Hm not even worth the trouble
Elpam Gorlab: Indeed you actually scratch me

Elpam Gorlab return the favor by using his lighting speed and daggers and slashed Death, hitting all the vital points. Death fell and feel his life is going away

Elpam Gorlab: Last chance join my side or die where you lie now
Death:"Cough" Go to hell
Elpam Gorlab: Thats your answer huh goodbye

Grendel: ..............
Saber: Master whats wrong your face is pale
Grendel: Nothing back to your training
Saber: Something happen to Death?
Grendel: Don't know I just felt something thats all
Saber: Oh master.... oops forgot the the tea is boiling brb
Grendel: Death are you really gone?

Back at Orbis Church
Cobra: Father why are you crying?
Penguin: Nothing just something in my eyes
Cobra: When is Death coming back from his quest, I want to train with him
Penguin: Back to your training now
Cobra: Fine "Wanders off"
Penguin: ................"praying to the Goddess Statue"

The mysterious fellow who gave advice to Death is visiting Sora's grave

?????: Its been a long time Sora
Nettie: My dear our son Death has grown strong and is respected at the Church, I'm sorry for leaving you to out two sons. "Drops Flowers to grave"

Just then a mysterious fellow appear
????: Its been a while mother
Nettie: Indeed it has Ball
Ball: Mother I can't feel Death presence anymore is he d
Nettie: No he isn't, when i first met him, he hold tremendous power that even with you
Ball: Hope you're right mother hope you're right mother

The End?

SPECIAL EXTENDED ENDING

One year has pass since Death left on a journey to Sleepywood, no one had last seen or heard of him. Though everyone have assume he's dead, some thought he might be still alive.

At the Orbis Church

Penguin: Cobra come over
Cobra: What is it Father?
Penguin: It is now time for you
Cobra: You don't mean...
Penguin: Yes I'm sending you to look for Death
Cobra: But Father....
Penguin: I know what you're thinking but I want him to come back whether hes alive or not
Cobra: What if he isn't alive?
Penguin: Then I'll give him a special burial next to his Father's grave
Cobra: His father's grave?
Penguin: During his time on the church, Death request that if he ever dies, he want to be buried next to his father's grave. I do not want to break that promise
Cobra: Then I'll shall look for him"Bows and leave"

Father Penguin then went to his room to get something, inside a drawer lies a box, inside the box lies a necklace with a locket. The locket has name inscribe Death on it

Penguin: Should I have given him this before Death left..... I'm sorry Sora, Nettie

Cobra got his stuff ready in departure to leave orbis to Ellina but suddenly a stranger grabbed him.

????: Hey you I want to talk to you for a sec
Cobra: Sorry but people who grab me without telling me will be punish!

Cobra draws the sword and the stranger lead back. Cobra lunges foward casting Holy Charge on his sword and use Blast.

????: Too easy to read Cobra
Cobra: ! Who are you

Just then the stranger stood still, gathering energy around him then he unleash Brandlish on Cobra thus forcing him back

Corbra: That move you're..
????: Its been a while Cobra
Cobra: Ball omg its been sooo long how you been?
Ball: Fine as always, you're too predictable as usually hehe
Cobra: Shut up I'll grow strong just like Death
Ball: ..............
Cobra: Oops sorry what said earlier
Ball: No its ok
Cobra: So what brings you here
Ball: I'm here to help you search for my little bro
Cobra: I appreciate the help thanks
Captain of Orbis Ship: On Board people ship leaves in 5 min
Cobra: Whoa better hurry they leave us
Ball: Lets go

As Ball joined Cobra in hopes of finding his brother, they rushed to the ship and left off.
Back at the Church

Penguin: I see so Ball joined with Cobra to find Death right?
Nettie: Yes i sent Ball to ease Cobra's work
Penguin: I'm more surprise to see you here, did you visit your husband grave?
Nettie: I did don't worry about it
Penguin: Once again I apologize for not giving Death his necklace
Nettie: Its ok the "Time" has not yet to come
Penguin: I see why you think Death is still alive
Nettie: He is the destined one just like prophecy have said
Penguin: I see his destiny will completely change the world
Nettie: In time Death will need this necklace

Back in Ellina, Ball and Cobra had finally arrived about 5 hrs late then they expected.

Cobra: OMG THOSE FKING CRIMSON BARLOG DELAY OUR FLIGHT
Ball: Oh cmon they weren't even a bother
Cobra: Shut up! you did nothing while I was fending off 3 Crimson Barlog
Ball: Okok chill I'll help this time
Cobra: So now where to?
Ball: If my sources are correct the last person who saw Death was a arch mage known as Saber.
Cobra: Cool where she lives at
Ball: Apparently she is residing with Grendel
Cobra: Really that one know wisest teacher ever known
Ball: Yes now lets go before dark comes in

So Ball and Cobra went searching for Grendel house all over for an hour till they found a Old house that stood out among them

Cobra: Is this his house?
Ball: Yes I think
Cobra: There is a immense aura surrounding the building and it won't permit us in
Ball: No duh i presume only disciples only may enter.
Cobra: Well since this is a emergency, time to smash this barrier
Ball: Wait there's a...

Right when Cobra start chanting, a spell appeared out of no where and hit Cobra, turning him into a snail. Ball of course dodge with it ease.

????: Death you finally came back??!
Cobra: No but wtf is this I'm a snail
????: Oh you're not Death
Ball: you're Saber...
Saber: What of it?
Ball: We need to talk to you and Grendel regarding Death disappearance
Saber: And who you might be?
Ball: Oh pardon my rudeness, My name is Ball, elder brother of Death and this is...
Cobra: Cobra from Orbis Church
Saber: OOO another idiot from church just like Death
Cobra: STFU
Saber: LOL sorry cuz you kinda think like him LOL
Cobra: OK whatever turn me back
Saber: Sorry spell lasted for 10 mins so wait a bit
Cobra: You mean you can't change me back.....
Saber: Sorry Razz
Ball: ......... Can we like go please, we're in a hurry
Saber: Oops sorry come inside, Grendel was expecting you two
Ball: Really lets go Cobra
Cobra: I'm a fking Snail I ain't fast like you!!
Ball: Ok fine I'll carry you

So the day almost to came to end, however deep within Sleepywood lies a cave call Ant tunnel. Elpam Gorlab suddenly appear

Elpam Gorlab: It is time

As he walk deep within the chamber, there lies a room
Elpam Gorlab opened the door and inside lies a person sleeping

Elpam Gorlab: It is the time Genesis awaken from you're slumber, there is work to be done.

Genesis open his eyes

Elpam Gorlab: There will be some intruders heading this way Genesis, eliminate them.
Genesis: ...............
Elpam Gorlab: Oh sorry that name isn't right to you right....

.................Death.................
Death/Genesis eyes glow dark red and his aura emits a powerful shock

Elpam Gorlab: Let us be gone now.....
Death/Genesis: .............

Continue from 2nd post

Back at Ellinia, at Grendel House....

Grendel: I see, you both are looking for Death huh
Ball: Yes we believe he is still alive
Grendel: Ho ho ho so do we too
Cobra: I hear that you mages can sense presence even at the blink of death
Grendel: Indeed I felt Death presence just now
Ball: REALLY?!
Cobra: REALLY!?
Saber: Are you sure you're not pulling us?
Grendel: I'm not joking however....
Ball: However?
Grendel: This presence is somewhat different when i first sense Death
Ball: Ok now that we confirm that hes alive lets go
Cobra: Yea times wasting
Grendel: Wait take Saber with you, she'll be your guide and a valuable asset in your group.
Ball: Whatever the more the merrier
Cobra: Um I'm still a snail here people
Saber: You're not anymore lets go
Cobra: Oh nvm

So the three bid farewell Grendel and departed for SleepyWood
Saber: Guys before we go even further lets just use the Sleepywood scroll that will tele us to the town deep there
Ball: Good cause I don't want to walk

All three uses the scroll and they both tele

Sleepywood

Saber: We're here
Ball: Wow that quick
Cobra: I think I'm gonna puke
Saber: ..................
Ball: Get use to it
Saber: This town is empty.....
Ball: Yea I don't see anyone
Cobra: Are you this the town?
Saber: I'm positive it is, I came here 12 years ago, this town is always blooming
where is everyone?
?????: Thats because everyone was killed by me...

The three of them quickly turn around to see a strange man in a cloak
Ball: Who are you?! "Draws sword"
Cobra: Are you the one who caused all this?! "Draws Sword"
??????: maybe heh
Saber: Guys I sense some of Death's aura around that man
Ball: WHAT!?!
Cobra: Could it be...
??????: Allow me to introduce myself my name Elpam Gorlab
Ball: That name.. sounds familiar
Cobra: Wait I seen that name somewhere before
Saber: It can't be......
Ball: You know him Saber?
Saber: He was once the powerful Mage in the entire continent and the first discipline of Grendel. Later on rumor that he was practing forbidden summoning magic that brings dark creatures from another realm. Grendel feeling that Elpam Gorlab is no longer him self, exiled out of Ellinia. I didn't know you would refuge here.
Elpam Gorlab: Indeed I'm that famous however I shall take revenge on this hateful Ellinia and the entire land.
Cobra: Not unless we stop you
Ball: Where's Death
Elpam Gorlab: Ho I don't know where he is...
Ball: Lies!!!

Ball charges in using his technique Brandlish on Elpam but suddenly a shadow appear and blocked Ball

Ball: !!!!!!!!!!
Cobra: It can't be
Saber: WTH is going on
Elpam Gorlab: Stall them my puppet Genesis
Genesis: ......... as you wish
Ball: Death!!!!!!!

Ball leaps back and so did Death

Ball: Death its me your brother Ball
Death: .............

Death didn't pay attention to what Ball saids and preparing to strike to again
Elpam Gorlab: Now then back to my plan, Death finish them!
Cobra: you're not going anywhere
Elpam Gorlab: Heh good bye

As Elpam Gorlab left off to the ant tunnels, they are left to deal with Death
Ball: You guys go after him, I'll handle Death
Cobra: Try not to hurt him as much
Ball: Go quick, who know what that guy is planning

Cobra and Saber went after Elpam while Ball and Death stood alone with their weapons ready

Ball: Death what happen to you......
Death: .................
Ball: No you're not the brother I love and care for, you're just someone using his body?!
Death: Heh come and try

Ball draws his sword and lunges at Death. Death pulls his scythe and taking position to counter. Ball casted PowerGuard and sword booster and powerstriked Death quick. However Death took the blow but didn't stagger from it. Ball feeling something isn't right back off quick after the strike. Death begin chanting strange skill that Ball had never seen. Suddenly after Death stop chanting, three dark spirits came and swirling around Death.

Note^: I can't really make good fight scenes but I'll try my best

Ball: That move it can't be.....
Death: With these spirits helping me you stand no chance
Ball: Why Death.... WHY DID YOU WALK THE DARK KNIGHT PATH?!!
Death: .......
Ball: You follow the Path Light for 12 years and you become like this
Death: You will never understand me

Death aura suddenly burst and energy begin to swirl around his scythe

Death: Get ready I won't go easy on you Ball
Ball: !!!!

Death suddenly disappear, Ball kept his guard up and checking around, suddenly Death came from behind and slash Ball. Ball blocked and counter slash Death, Death stood back blocking the attack. Ball suddenly use Brandlish on Death

Death: Too predictable...

Right when the hit connects, Death suddenly vanish..

Ball: Don't hide!!!!
Death: I'm not

Suddenly Ball felt pain through him

Ball: What the...

Ball felt and blood begin to spurt out

Death:.......
Ball: I see, you will do everything you can to win huh even with their own family...
Death:.......
Ball: Heh are you gonna finish me off
Death: I'm sorry....
Ball: Death you!!!!!

Death deliver the final blow to Ball and no longer Ball can move.

Death: Time to finish some unfinish business with that guy

With it Death advance into the Ant Tunnel hoping to kill that person.
